God of War
God of War review
God of War is a third-person action-adventure game playable on PS4. It is beautiful, deep and epic. When you start playing you will feel that it is something special even without reasons. The game’s story here is rather complicated with a lot of sudden discoveries.
From the very beginning, you will see key character, Kratos, who is trying to chop down a tree and to make eternity box for his wife who has died. His son, Atreus, helps him to do it. Some event makes them both start for a journey around the realm of Midgard. You should know that the relationship between these characters is not simple at all. Kratos is a warrior and treats Atreus rather as a weapon which he has created. He teaches his son to survive in the wild world. Sometimes Atreus’ behavior does not suit circumstances and that is a consequence of such upbringing. Though, in general, he is energetic, looking for troubles.
They together will fight with such enemies, like beasts, trolls, smart supernatural warriors. Kratos is equipped with an axe functioning differently. You will navigate it and look for the enemies, but it is impossible to see them from all angles at a time that is why you should watch out. You can apply proximity icons which alert you of incoming attacks. There are a lot of new weapons and abilities. There are also a lot of risks here.
In addition to fighting the key character is to solve puzzles, which are suggested, and here Kratos’ axe is also useful. Sometimes puzzles may slow gameplay, but they do not divert you from the principle mission because they are integrated perfectly.
As to graphics we can say that this game is one of the best-looking games ever. You will admire breathtaking landscapes, realistic characters with a lot of details. There are various atmospheric effects. In general, the design is admirable.
